“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Proverbs 16:3
Dear Lord,
The past few weeks have been challenging and, at times, had me questioning, “What’s it all for?”
My work has changed, the way we interact with others has changed, the people I serve and work with have also had changes in their life.
All of these changes have left many of us feeling confused and uncertain. What will the future hold? What are we supposed to be doing? Will our work be changed forever, or is this only temporary?
Yesterday I found myself asking, “What’s it all for?”
And I was reminded, it’s for you.

It’s always been for you.
At least it was always supposed to be for you.
I realize I sometimes get distracted and forget that my life, my work, the way I spend my time and share my talents are meant to honor, serve, and please you.
In all of this confusion and uncertainty when I come back to you, I’m reminded, it’s for you. In this, I find peace, comfort, and strength to keep going.
I ask you to bless and guide me in life, health, and work as well as with my family, friends, and community. May I help share your gifts with others as they too wonder what’s it all for? May we all be humble and brave enough to listen, receive, and act upon the things you are asking us to do.
Thank you for this day.
Amen.
