Introducing Glory — A Story of Growth, Grace & Gratitude

Foodspiration® Card of the Year

Since 2010, I’ve created and released a new Foodspiration® word and design of the year.
Each inspired by someone’s story – a client, a friend, a loved one, or a personal journey.

Over the years, I’ve experimented with countless ways of sharing these cards—printing them, packaging them, positioning them… trying to find that one system that could hold the vision in the same way my heart carries it.

But if I’m honest, the system piece has never been my greatest gift.
This ADHD brain of mine loves creativity, connection, and meaning… but consistency, processes, and annual timelines? Not so much.

And yet—every time I tried to walk away from Foodspirations®—
God’s voice, His whisper, His grace, His nudge…
has always proven stronger than my distraction.

The Year I Surrendered the Idea of Continuing…

As things have evolved with Affy Health and my private practice, Food Therapy, has shifted toward serving larger organizations, I looked at my bandwidth and said:

“I can’t keep trying to do it all. Foodspiration® will need to be put on hold for the moment.”

I meant it.
I told my husband.
I told God.
I let it go.

Then one afternoon, while cleaning out old folders, I found a document from around 2014—maybe earlier.
It was filled with words, concepts, and inspiration for future Foodspiration® designs.

There was a word on that list that I couldn’t ignore. I told myself, “IF I were to create a card this year, that would be the word.”

But I also brushed it off.

There were too many other things to do; I knew I was already wearing too many hats. IF, and only IF, the inspiration hit, I would consider.

A Client’s Strength Reminded Me Why This Work Matters

Around that same time, I received a call from a woman in her late 30s, whose pseudonym is Susan.
She was in tears—sharing a 20+ year struggle with addiction and an eating disorder. She wanted help. She was ready for healing. She needed hope.

Susan had been recommended inpatient treatment, but due to past trauma, that option wasn’t one she felt safe taking. She asked if I would consider working with her.

We agreed on a plan—with boundaries and clear expectations.
If we didn’t see progress, inpatient treatment would still be recommended.

Week after week, Susan showed up.
Committed.
Courageous.
Raw.
Fighting for her recovery even when she felt she had no fight left.

I watched Susan take steps forward… and steps she felt were backward…
But what I saw was strength.
What I saw was growth.
What I saw was grace building from within her.

It was impossible not to be moved by Susan’s resilience.

And Then… God Spoke Again

Fast-forward to October.
I had officially missed the personal deadline I had set IF there was to be a Holiday Foodspiration Card release.

At this point, I had really surrendered that from my to-do list.

A few days later, as Susan left our weekly session, I turned around and saw that old document again…
And there it was—the word I had written more than a decade ago.

I knew instantly:

That word was for Susan.
Her journey.
Her story.
Her reminder.
Her testimony.
Her inspiration.

And suddenly, it didn’t matter how the logistics would work out.
It didn’t matter which system I used.
It didn’t matter whether the launch was “on time.”

God made it clear:
This wasn’t about me.
This was about Him.

And so here I am…

✨ Introducing… GLORY

Walk in Glory.
Grow in Grace.
Live in Gratitude.

The story behind Glory began with one woman’s courage and her commitment to recovery—not for perfection, not for applause—but:

For the purpose of glorifying God.

Susan’s journey is one I believe many of us can relate to, especially in recent years:

  • If you’ve been through hard things,
  • If grace has carried you through,
  • If gratitude has become your grounding,
  • If you’ve grown in ways you never expected…

…then Glory is for you too.

And just like your story, there is more to GLORY’s story.

This design was brought to life by my talented cousin and goddaughter, Kate Arbour.
Who, over the past few years, has grown in grace, navigating life through grief and gratitude, walking in glory as she unlocks and shares her God-given gift of creativity.

Kate didn’t just design this card.
She embodied it.

And now, I’m honored to share it with you.

✨ Glory is Now Available

Thank you for being part of this journey—
for the grace, the encouragement, the stories, the faith…
and for reminding me that sometimes our callings don’t disappear.
They simply wait for the right moment to rise again.
