A few people asked what is St Joseph’s Altar? Here’s a little summary 💜

A tradition that began in Sicily after a long drought had farmers praying for rain.

They pleaded to St. Joseph their patron, for relief from the famine.

Finally, the skies opened, and the drought had ended.

To show gratitude, a table was prepared with foods that were harvested.

After paying honor to St. Joseph, the food was given to the hungry.

As time has gone on, the tradition has evolved into the creative spirit of today.

The feast of St Joseph is a time for petition and thanksgiving.

St. Joseph, is the patron of those in need—workers, travelers, the persecuted, the poor, the aged, the dying.
