A Prayer for Memorial Day

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” ~ John 15:13

Dear Lord,

May I remember those who laid down their life before me.

The men and women who sacrifice their lives for my freedom. 

The families who sacrificed their hero for our nation. 

The souls who went to battle and earned their wings as America’s Angels. 

Let the act of their bravery and courage be honored, not only today but always. 

Amen

To the families left behind, thank you for your sacrifice. May the strength of your soldier carry you through your most challenging days. May the memory of their love and courage bring you peace.
